Day 1: No need to rush! We leave at 12 midday so you've got all morning to get organised. Today we head to Kings Creek Station where at the end of the day after dinner we settle into our swags around a campfire.
Day 2: We walk Watarrka (Kings Canyon) to experience the fantastic views of the Gorge, huge sandstone walls and an immense canyon floor. We then head towards Uluru in good shape to set up camp and go out for our first Uluru sunset. Nothing really prepares you for The Rock – it's awesome.
Day 3: Up with the birds for sunrise over Uluru. Today we head for Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) where we hike the majestic Valley of the Winds with its incredibly ancient rock formations before returning to camp to soak up the magic of Uluru. We spend time learning about the Aboriginal people at the Cultural Centre.
DAY 4: After another fantastic sunrise and breakfast we enjoy a walk around the base of Uluru before heading south on the Stuart Highway to Coober Pedy. Incredible changing landscape, kangaroos, emus, eagles and road trains all unfold before us. Dinner, lots of stories and an overnight stay underground.
DAY 5: Slow start today exploring Coober Pedy, the opal capital of the world and a landscape a lot like Mars. "Noodle” for opals or visit an opal shop before travelling on down to the foot of the Flinders Ranges. Tonight's spent at Port Germein on South Australia's Spencer Gulf (summer) or in the foothills of the Flinders Ranges.
DAY 6: Last day. Walk the longest jetty in the southern hemisphere and/or climb Devil's Peak. After our last lunch sit back and relax as we cruise to Adelaide arriving before 6pm.
